Crystal and Nathan had the most beautiful spring wedding day in Burlington Washington, at the lovely Stepping Stones Garden in Skagit County! The lush garden created an idyllic backdrop for their ceremony and portraits- just look at that arch in full bloom!

Crystal and I kept a close eye on the weather as the day got closer, and the rain was unavoidable. We raced the rain for separate wedding party photos, and then embraced it for the first look and private vow exchange.

After the vows, the rain was really coming down so we decided to wait it out and see if it would let up before taking photos of the entire wedding party and more couples portraits. And by some miracle, it did! Just as we had resigned ourselves to grabbing umbrellas and making the most of it, the rain stopped and we had the perfect light for photos. I’m so glad Crystal and Nathan stuck to their vision of an outdoor ceremony, because the weather was perfect the entire time.

Their ceremony was absolutely perfect, from the light and greenery, to the love and care everyone in attendance showed. Their pastor married them and led them in signing the marriage license, and then they celebrated down the aisle as husband and wife! I don’t know if I’ve ever seen a more enthusiastic newlywed couple, it was so joyful and exciting to witness 🙂

After the ceremony, we took a few family portraits in front of the stunning arch, and as we finished our last photo, the rain came back! I couldn’t believe our luck, it was truly kismet. Luckily the reception was held in a beautiful white tent, where guests mingled and enjoyed appetizers before the first dance.

After the first dance, it was time for dinner, cake cutting, and toasts! J and L Barbecue prepared a delicious buffet while Five Star Bartending served drinks!

Finally, it was time for the dance floor! Ives Audio did a fantastic job keeping the dance floor energetic as everyone celebrated- complete with a champagne spray!
